WASHINGTON: Foreign Minister Shah Mehmood Qureshi said Wednesday Pakistan will not permit US micromanagement, adding, US officials have allowed Pakistan to utilize US mammoth non-military aid according to its priorities, Geo news exclusively reported from here.
This FM Qureshi said to a press conference in Washington following meetings with US top officials. “Pakistan will not allow US mismanagement as the stability of Pakistan keeps the top most precedence”.
“I held several meetings with US top officials including vice-president Joe Baiden, National Security Advisor Jim Jones, Admiral Mike Mullen, Senator Johan Kerry, Senator Lugar and Harword Berman in order to voice our concerns on Kerry-Lugar Bill”, he said
Foreign Minister said I am thankful to US military leadership and administration both to have amended busy schedules to hear from me.
He said I strongly believe the statements, issued by Senator Johan Kerry and Harward Berman after signing KBL, will wipe out Pakistan’s concerns over US aid bill.
“US aid will be meant for alleviation of poverty and for welfare of poor people in Pakistan”, he claimed adding, “US administration has assured us it is serious to understand Pakistan’s reservations over KBL and will vigilantly eliminate them”.
US officials said do not doubt our intentions, he concluded.
