Peshawar: sugar prices soar up to 100/kg

PESHAWAR; Sugar crisis continues in Peshawar and the commodity is being sold for Rs80-100/kg.

The commodity disappeared from the markets, when NWFP Government fixed the sugar rate at Rs40/kg, following Supreme Court’s (SC) directions.

On the other hand sugar supply is lees then demand at Utility stores and citizens fail to avail the essential food item despite standing for hour in the queues.

Common shopkeepers blame dealers for overcharging.
