ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Yousuf Raza Gilani said parliament is supreme body where debate is on over Kerry-Lugar bill.

Talking to state television before departure to China, Premier Gilani said mutual stance will be adopted at Kerry-Lugar bill after consultation with all political parties of the country. Pakistan and China have brotherly relationship that was strengthened more during the tenure of Zulfiqar Ali Bhutto and Benazir Bhutto.

He said his present visit will boost cooperation in defence, social, economic and culture sectors between the two countries. There are reservations about some clauses of Kerry-Lugar bill but overall the bill is in favour of Pakistan. The parliament is supreme body which is discussing the bill.

Earlier, premier has presided over a high level meeting which was attended by Chairman Joint Chiefs of Staff Committee Tariq Majeed and Chief of Army Staff General Ashfaq Pervez Kayani.
